Another one I got in Broome WA a couple of days ago. I like how you can see the spurs on the wings which are this bird's weapon.

Impressive Ofer, hand holding the 600! Oh, and the image is great too! Good exposure with nice lighting. I might be tempted to clean up the bill just a bit (although I don't have a good enough view to determine exactly what is on it). Interesting information regarding the spurs.

awesome image Ofer. having played wit the 600 for one weekend, I am amazed that you can handhold it to produce this IF image @ 80% FF. Is the right wing and body more in focus than the left wing or is it a bit of motion blur? Good work, as always. Very impressive!

Very nice presentation of the bird while the sky color looks unnatural.

Thanks Bob, nothing was done to this image other than the basic processing and no selective manipulatuion on the sky. This is a very natural looking Aussie sky in late afternoon light.

Excellent light, details and bird angle. Love the eye contact and the wings down posture. Nice to see the spurs. Clean bill would have been nice, but hey, this is nature.

Thanks Sidharth, it didn't even cross my mind to "clean" the bill. It is part of the story and as you say - it is natural.

Very similar to our Wattled Lapwing. Good flying posture, together with the show of the spurs. Good exposure throughout too.

Wonderful details and colours. I like how the bird seems to be looking downwards...
