When I was in France my son in laws brother who plays the sax asked me if I could come with some creative ways of showing his instrument. I obviously was not set up for this but did the best I could. We took this in the backyard in an area with even lighting against a blank, neutral wall.(easy for future selection) I took as many angles and sections that I could think of and recently worked on the images. First I changed the backround and then started with PB. I wanted a sharper look so played with Topaz Detail and other sharpening and detail filters until I came up with a combo that I liked.

Dave, makes me want to pick up my drum sticks and play along. Love the effect here of the reflections in the brass..................Comp works well for me. Nice warm colors................I would hang this in my music room

What a great image...I have GOT to get my head wrapped around PB. I love the almost engraved effects it had on the metallic surface and the reflections, and the colors pop off the screen. Wouldn't change a thing.

Fantastic effect and composition, Dave. I like the liquid metal look along with the reflection. Did you try a vertical one too?

Hi Dave, flawless! The black background really makes the sax standout nicely.

Thanks alot for the comment...greatly appreciated.
Indranil, I didn't shoot the whole sax just parts of it. It was held on a stand and I tried to avoid that area.

Ah, the joy of sax! Really nice look with the filters, love the way the metal flows and reflects. Great job!

This turned out great, Dave. The filtering works extremely well on the brass metal, like the reflected light and colors, and black BG makes it pop nicely.

Outstanding Dave! I love bling and this has lots of it in the reflections. Nice composition too.
