All but one Terns were going about their business around their nesting colony on the Island
as we watched and photographed them from the shore.
This guy came by very close and shouted at us.
    Thanks for looking.

Very nice image. The eye is really nice. I like the open beak and wing detail.

Thank you Sir, thanks you for asking.
It is just a matter of choice.
It works for me, especially with BIF and more importantly BIF white birds.
I used evaluative metering with shutter priority for many years with good results.
Now I use manual setting for virtually everything and it works well for me.
Any combination of setting is good and sometimes I still use evaluative metering and
also use shutter priority, but I just love Manual Setting.
Next step to experiment with, setting the flash manually all the time.

Great shot. Amazingly close, at 187mm. Sharp and well exposed. I know these guys have bright red bills, but the colors look a little too saturated on my screen.

Speaking of flash, I think a bit of it to fill the underwings and belly would have been a good option...

Great calling pose, the comp is well balanced, and the image looks well detailed. I'd destaurate the red bill a few points.

    Thanks Daniel.
I'm hesitant to use fill flash for BIF as it fires one in every five shots.
When I add the external package of eight extra batteries, (Now I have twelve alltogether)
then it gets heavy or I have to deal with the cable all the time.
However I still am thinking of trying it just for the sake of trying it.
