    Default Splish Splash

Around here in Florida, the ducks are now abundant, which is great since many of them we typically don't get to see. I found a Ruddy Duck that was having a blast taking a bath, and didn't mind one bit that I was watching. I was really surprised however that the camera was able to keep focus on him due to all the splashing that was going on around him!

    Here is the result:

    Canon 40D
    EF 400L @ f/6.3
    AI Servo Mode

The splash adds a lot to the image. Maybe a bit more room in front of the duck. S/H or curves might help getting more details in the shadows and to take care of the overexposed whites.

Great action with the splashes and the wing blur. The catchlight is great, but the white cheek is a little hot for my tastes.

Nice action captured in this image but I find the crop very tight and as mentioned the whites are a little hot. The water color is very rich color which makes for a very lovely BG.

I think some more room is called for especially in the front. Great work capturing the action.

Thanks everyone for the helpful tips. I think I might have cropped this one, and I'm going to go back and see if I can add a bit more room for him.

    Again, thanks!!!
