I captured this Egret from the Mankwe hide in the Pilanesberg nature reserve. The BG is OOF winter grasses.

Beautiful background and nice pose. I was wondering if the bird had a colour cast originally that you had to remove.

Thanks Karl. Although I processed this ages ago, I do remember that I battled to get rid of a magenta/red cast for some reason. I do feel the egret is very white, but at least he isnt red and magenta.

Thank you all for the feedback and comments too.

WOW! The whites are exposed superbly. Love the diagonal perch and the BG. Your 100-400mm is tack sharp at 400mm. I find mine a bit soft but perhaps it isn't the camera but the operator! Image really pops,

Impressive work here Stuart. Pose, composition, background, depth of field, exposure and everything else come together to make a great shot. You may have even nailed the BPN standard for head angle within a few degrees. Well done, my friend!

Awesome image Stu!! Love the background and the perch. Good job with the whites. I'd be tempted to pass the sponge tool (at 8-10%) on the eye and lores a bit for more colour there.

Don't know how I missed this one Stuart. Absolutely stunning!
The bg, the pose, perch, comp, exposure - everything top notch.
Your images make me want to visit your neck of the woods in a hurry.
