Default Theme: Coming in for a Landing

When I saw Mitch's image (Fishing the Dawn) this past week, I thought I should try another, changing the background image.

This image started out as a flight photo of a TV, but it flew in so close that the right hand wing tips were out of frame.
    1) Rebuild the missing wing tips.
    2) Go through my images of TV's and selected a better head/face for this bird, original head was looking straight. Paste this new head into the image and aligned it (Cntrl-T works really well for this part.
    3) I found a background where the colors matched/complimented the Vulture, modified it to size and appplied a painting effect.
    4) Mask the TV's body and wings, copy and pasted it onto new background, without any PP effect.
    5) Zoomed the image, slowly cloned the edges of the vulture to remove any trace of the old blue sky/ or old background....this step really helps to make it look like it belongs
I usually use a soft round brush about 5 px.
    6) Crop, added frame from background color rocks...added signature...

It takes a while, you must save often using different names, so at any time you can go back if you make an error.
When I look at it I can tell the background has been added, but doing these really hones your skills in CS5, or any of the software, we use.
    Thanks for looking

Paul, that's a pretty incredible bit of image processing...and I'm loving the end product. I don't think I'd change a thing. Great work!

    Hey Paul,
A lot of steps but the end product works very well! You did well with the comp and placed the TV in a great location in the frame. Very nice job!

Hi Paul, lots of work, but well worth the effort! Nice placement of the TV and I love the wall in the background too.

Hey Paul, the colors work great together in this one. This is often the biggest issue with composites, being that the elements don't match up well, but this is certainly not the case here. I like the unexpected background for the TV too, it all comes together nicely. What a labor but well worth it!
