Brigantine last Thursday. Sun was unfriendly, as were the greenheads; but I did get a few keepers. 80% of FF. Normal levels adjustment, NR and USM, plus considerable water cleanup. C&C appreciated.

Bill, one of your best IMHO. Good exposure and sharpness on the skimmer, together with the raised wings. I would maybe add a bit to the top.

Bill, Nice capture and I applaud you for braving the place with all the greenheads there now. Nice pose and exposure. I agree w/ Stuart regarding a bit more room up top.

This is one of your best shots Bill. I like the trail in the water created by the beak. Agree about more room on the top. What are greenheads?

Thank you all for the kind words. I agree about the top. This was the top of the frame as shot (I clipped wings on more than a few frames, and probably should have removed the TC.) It will be easy to add a bit of canvas to the master file.

Thank you Gail. Greenheads are more properly called Salt Marsh Horseflies, and are common in salt marsh environments along the east coast in July and August. The females of the species are said to require the blood of photographers for the protein they need to develop their eggs.

Classic pose and sharp. Maybe a bit more room at the top and right.

Nice skimmer shot Bill. I'm glad to know the greenies are already there, as I'll be there in a few weeks. The sharpness is good and I do like the wing position in this shot.

In years past, I have donated more than my share of blood to the "greens"! Now I am too old and dried up... There isn't any more blood!

    Love the pic!
