Nice and sharp Joel with good detail in the feathers. Nice background also, looks like evening light. The water drop is a nice touch.

    Joel,

Really like this one, you show the beauty of the Godwit in a natural environment. Love the soft light, could it be a tad underexposed. Do the first two stops contain some data on the histogram. It could be my monitor too and I do love the light. Just curious, lets see what others say,..strong image.

Joel, you are ringing my bell with this one! Super capture and presentation. Color meter verifies that the exposure is spot on. I love the pose, eye contact, and droplets. Love the quality and color temp of the light. Was it just before sunset? Congrats on this one - it would go in my guide book.

Thanks Kerry, I appreciate the kind words. This is another image from my one day trip with James Shadle last September.

This was a late afternoon shot on a sand bar, I was kneeling in the shallow water with my tripod.

I went back and checked the histogram and the distribution is perfect.

Joel, have been with James many times and sat in the same water, again sweet light.

Joel, beautiful! I'd like to see a "sliver" off the bottom . . .
