One of the behaviors that I like about the skimmers. It was a cloudy day and sun stayed behind the rain clouds the entire time I was out there. Really had to push it to the right, enjoy!

Troy, I like the concept and the high key look in a really tough exposure situation with white birds and bright overcast skies. The only thing I would wish for is more feather detail.

I don't like very many high key images but this one looks pretty good. The birds are positioned nicely and the oranges and blacks contrasts nicely with everything else. Sometimes the edges of the feathers just get lost in the bkgr in this type shot but I can make them all out in this one. Well done Troy.

    Hi Troy

Difficult exposure condition here...Phew!. I think you did a really good job on this however and the action is great and well captured but like joel & Jack I think the outline of the bird blends into the background too much for my liking. Can you mask out the background and change the BG colour slight to get back the edge defination on the wing trailing edge??

I like it, it is original and that attracts me, never seen skimmers like this before. The vert is good leverage of composition only wish I could see the eyes better. Sometimes the images are stronger when the subjects do not touch each other, other times does not matter - let's see what other say. I always enjoy your eye Troy, nice one here.

Hi Troy, I like this shot a lot and think the high key look is perfect. Part of the look for me is the disappearance along the edges of the birds, so that doesn't bother me at all. My only thought would be the separation that Jeff mentions. Another solid image, I'm really liking your work Troy.
