My first attempt at photographing bluebirds here on Long Island. It was shot from my truck window using a bean bag. Thanks for looking and commenting.

Beautiful BG, and the cedar provides a different tyype of perch that we normally see with these guys. Nice head turn too. The subject looks a bit ratty...I guess that's what happens after a few months of dedicated work that comes with the breeding season! Some of the branches seem a bit bright in luminosity - perhaps worth toning some down. I would also look at cropping a little tighter if this isn't already.

P.S. Don't be afraid to crank up the ISO for better SS...(although the light looks bright for only 1/100s at ISO 400?)

I liked the composition a lot here. The vertical twig is acting like a nice frame on that side. Also liked how you did not clip the vegetation on the right side. nice perch, head turn, colors and BG. Details on the bird look a little soft though.

I like it Michael. The bird has great color against the bg and I really like the perch too. I kinda wish the branch on the left didn't get cut off up top but I do think it frames nicely.

Hey Mike, Good suggestions already given. I like the pose and this is a great catch! The perch and BG look good.
