    Default Hooded sunrise

I tested out my new Canon 300mm F2.8 and 2x converter from car as blind. Hooded Merganser male at sunrise. F8, ISO 400. Quite pleased with the details in the whites. Whilt it can not replace my sold 500mm, it is quite a useful combo.

    Jeff,

That combo is working fine. The water color, ripple and eye really catch the viewers attention. Nice going.

    Hey Jeff,

Love the COLORS on this one. You did well with the exposure, composition and details. Excellent work!

Beautiful color in the water Jeff - really complements the hoodie a lot.

Very interesting colors on the water, Jeff and a nice capture with the crest up. I like the sparkling water droplets on the back and the contrast between the red water and blue ripples. The bird's head is turned slightly away from you and, it appears, slightly away from the light - thus the bill and the front of the face are very dark, as presented. You might consider a slightly different crop to move the bird a little farther from the center of the frame. :)
