Thanks Wendell, the flower looks a little strange since I posted this.

Jack, this is really nice. Excellent exposure, color, and fantastic feather detail - great job on the whites and blacks. The background is lovely. I like the inclusion of the flower and environment even though it makes the bird look even smaller - I think that is the point actually! My only suggestion would be to add a little bit of canvas behind the bird so the tail isn't quite so close to the edge of the frame. I think this would also help to balance the composition, as the flower and perch are quite large relatively speaking. Super image, I like it a lot!

Skillfully done Jack. You mention the flower. I think it was out of the depth of field so the centre is not in focus. Love the background too. Exposure is excellent with the blacks and whites looking very good.

Jack, I love what you are doing here. Nice job including the flower and nature setting. Very relaxing image only wish for more of it, tad tight for me. Flash is well done and not bad for such a large crop.

Thanks everybody. You are right about the flower John, I got it as close to the perch as I could but the stem curved toward me. I sharpened the whole flower then selected the middle and sharpened more
