One of the difficult species to get , also one of the most beautiful . I got this one after 3 years of wait . Would have liked it to be with a better BG , but then I would have taken him with more clutter too .
I know the sky patches and the twig in front of the tail distract , but I did not want to tone it down / clone the twig as I wanted to keep it as I had shot it .
The 2X TC helped me isolate the subject due to the thin DOF . This is a FF image .

Rakesh this is a wonderful capture...Even with 2X TC and at 2000 ISO this is nice and clean Image...I usually get some scratchy BG with 2X but it looks smooth and nice here.
Rakesh, terrific shot. Malabar trogon is indeed beautiful and elusive. I've seen it only once and that too only for the brief moment. Its not realistic to expect a lower shooting angle or a very clean BG in the forest for this species( unless of course a set up is done). What I like the most here is the separation. great colors and loved the blacks. for that focal length and ISO, IQ is awesome.
