This is the national bird of South Africa. Photographed at the Austin Roberts bird sanctuary in Pretoria South Africa. Added canvas and wing tips on the left wing. 40D, ISO 320, 7.1, 1/640, 330mm with 100-400 L IS.

    Attractive looking species Stephen!!
Great pose, lighting, detail and BG - very well captured. Noted that you have added some canvas but the composition would be further enhanced with more canvas, particularly at top and on viewer's left. But still a nice capture - well done!!

Very nice pose, angle and details. I agree with John that it still is a bit tight in the frame, should be easy to fix.

Nicely done. Looks as if you meant the bird's right wing; is that correct? The white head looks very bright to me. (How White the Whites???)

    Hi Stephen!

Agree with all, a very nice flight image. Nice job adding the wing tips ... don't stop and keep adding some more canvas!

I brought the image into Photoshop, and technically, you are correct. The highest RGB value that I got on the head was 246. Enlarged, however, there was zero detail visible in the whites on the head. You can read and learn lots more about whites in the thread "How White the Whites" in Educational Resources here: http://www.birdphotographers.net/for...ead.php?t=8197
