Default Stepping into the world with confidence

    Attached Images Attached Images

This image was created in the morning at 6:43am on Nickerson Beach, Long Island. A baby piping plover on its way with a mission. The confidence that radiates from the plover chick is what strikes me most in this image. Brave little guy.

This image was created with the Canon 800mm f/5.6L IS lens and Canon 1.4x TC II at 1120mm, and the EOS-1DMIV. ISO 800. Evaluative metering: 1/1250 sec. at f/8 set manually. Cropped for composition.

    All comments are welcome.

    Thanks for looking.

Clemens, I love the composition and the cute chick! The sand ripples and raised foot make this special.

I'm loving all these litle chick shots. The "strolling along" pose is great as is the light and the neat slope of the dune.

A wonderful shot Clemens. These little guys move so quickly and are so fuzzy that it is hard to get a tack sharp shot as you did. I might take a bit off the bottom and clean up the little green blob behind the chick but other than that I love it,

This might look really nice as a pano as well.

Excellent chick shot Clemens. I like the sand ripples too and the oof BGD above the horizon adds some nice depth to the image. Of course the sharp chick with the raised foot looks sweet too.

Nicely composed Clemens, and like the one leg raised on this cute one. Like the pattern in the sand and nice job on whites. Agree on a bit off bottom, but well done!
