I like this image I appreciate the bird is small but somehow it comes together for me - what do you think?

I too like images with birds small in the frame. I would prefer a more classic pose with him this small in the frame. I might also crop some of the dark band from the top.

Nice BG, and a good exposure. Adding on Alan's comments, I would like to see a catchlight in the eye.

    Keep them coming!

I like the idea very much Jonathan but the dead eye and the obstructing branch as well as the branch on the right which is higher up than the bird kill this one for me. As is, the dark tone area requires cropping IMHO. Sharpness colours etc bang on.

Edit: Don't apologise for the subject being small in the frame....these shots can be more difficult than in your face close ups since there are more elements to get right...habitat can often be displeasing.

I like small in the frame on occasion but this one does not work for me as the bird is partially obscured by a perch that protrudes towards us, is poorly lit, and is lost in all the vegetation. Had the bird been on the tippy top of the perch in a well lit pose the image might have had a chance. SH and EXP are good.
