Taken this past week, at Ouray, CO, a quaint town at 10,000 feet nestled in the Rockies. A holdover from the gold mining days, it still serves its 200 full time residents, and thousands of summer visitors.

A bit of Simplify to sharpen the detail.

Jay, I really like the composition and Topaz worked well on this. The colors on the truck are wild - I would have liked to see it in the hey-day

Jay, Nice find. I like the rugged old look to this and the surrounding scene. I might tone down the blue in the sky just a bit since the truck colors are muted and it makes the sky seem bright if that makes sense. I love this one and these type of images appeal to me.Nice work.

Jay, great find and image! Nice work with the processing and composition.

Ouray is heaven on earth. My wife and I spent a few nights at Hot Springs Inn, soaking in the natural hot water and taking in the awesome scenery. The drive that goes from Durango to Silverton to Ouray and then down to Montrose along the Million Dollar Highway - breathtaking! Thanks for sharing!

Wonderful image and a great subject photographed in a beautiful setting. Would love to see this as an HDR. If you have photomatix you can do it as a single image HDR.

I can't help but note that most of they guys' first comment is "what a truck!"
But also,....good photo. The treatment of color on the truck actually seems to stand out against the more natural look of the trees, etc. good effect. And....what a truck!:)

Thanks everyone for the kind words.

Denise, good feedback re toning down the sky.

Kerry, yes, the Million Dollar Highway is awesome. Just wish there more places to pull off the road into Ouray for photos............

    Hey Jay,
For me, I would like the truck a bit lighter. I think just lightening that would be a great touch. Just an option to think about and IMO this will make the image shine!

Jay.....Great image! I agree that the truck should be brightened up just a bit...esp the front....Also the clouds look a bit too grayed.....but still a great image!
