    This picture was taken in Norway. Shore Bird migration has just begun here in Norway. And I hope to photograph some this weekend. It's going to be higher ISO, I have learned ..................... Data: 1 / 2000, ISO 100, F 4.0. Photo Equipment: EOS 1D MK III, 500mmL F4, 0 IS. Date: 19/9-2008

    The low angle and tight crop make for a very intimate portrait. Very good sharpness, although DOF could have been better. As you point out, a higher ISO would have helped you to stop down some. I do wish the head was angled slightly more towards us.

    Agree with what Doug said about the DOF and HA. I do like how low you get with your shorebird images.

    Nice image of the dunlin. I do like the BGD and I agree with the others about the HA and dof. The tail would look better in focus.

    Terrific low shooting angle and background. As your self-critique, and others, have noted, higher ISO will improve the next one.

    Or a slower shutter speed.... With the bird angled toward us, the head needs to be on straighter. And I am not a big fan of the crud in the water. The eye is sharp and the EXP is good.
