What do you do when you get caught with a great subject and too much lens?
Take two images of course and combine them as you would any other pano.

    1D Mark IV, 600mm
    Manual (Spot on elk)), 1/400 @ f/5.6, ISO 400
    Post-production- 15in MBP, LR3, CS5, NIK

See you where there is light, or at the computer

    Outstanding image!

It almost looks as if he's smiling.

Loving the soft light here Chas. Great details too - the stitching worked well. Seems like he stoods still just for you .

The depth is also very cool...

    Impressive image and subject!

Not too familiar with Elk, is the female sleeping or resting?

Like the soft light and the color. Nice looking bull and I like the trees in the background. Like the cow on the ground, really adds to the image.

I already cant wait to get up to Jasper in fall and this has further wet my appetite. Such amazing detail and I like how it shows him standing guard with his ladies near by.

    Show off!!

Seriously though, beautiful detail and seamless stitching making a very beautiful image.

As a matter of interest, where did you decide to do the stitch as I'm assuming you made a conscious decision when photographing where would be the best place to join the images together?

Chas - this is great and making me look forward to my trip to Banff and Lake Louise in a couple of weeks.
