    I photographed this rail in Grand Isle, Louisiana. We spent a few days camping there, hoping for an early fall of migratory birds. That didn't happen, but a pair of rails were fairly cooperative. I have other photos of this rail with a cleaner background but the oyster shells are typical of the saltwater marsh environment.

    Great picture... I took pictures of this species today, now I don't have to look at my books to id.
    Nice colors and sharpness, the drop of water adds a nice touch.

    Hi Gayle how are you?

    Beautiful tones and plumage, the lighting is nice and soft also like the smooth water and ripples.

    i like the shells in the BG but I wish they didnt touch the bird at the top and near the face.
