Plenty of details on the feather here...IMO you need to remove noise from the Eye to make it even more appealing..lovely color of the eye BTW

That's so true, Richard. These guys somehow look comically prehistoric :)
In this case, I would have traded DOF for more SS.
If a bird is co-operative, which rarely happens here, I try to experiment with different settings after taking a few shots I'm happy with.
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but it appears that you've run NR on the bird - details seem to be missing.

    Thanks Sachin, will do

Sidharth - you are correct ran light raw on bird being so close noise was evident; however I may redo with an NR edge mask and see if I get better details.Interesting comment above "Plenty of details on the feather here..." my 100-400 and TC can be dead soft
Its a nice enough image to play around with!
    thanks

I looked at it on my mobile and thought you captured the weired looking feathers... I am naive enough to commit mistakes...

not at all naive - - all comments and critique is very useful indeed, and of great use to me. ,and you are participating which is very good indeed. So, thanks once again. I am unable to get this one sorted atm but have several sinmilar shots to sort through.without taking off the noise it will not sharpen. Procedural tips welcome ie how would you deal with this one.
