I too love everything about this one, especially the position of the wave above the bird. Cute and sharp with a perfect head angle and EXP.

Cheryl, I like the low perspective here, good look back pose. You have captured good detail on the little guy, and the wave in the BG does add interest.

    Beautiful Cheryl.

Sharp, HA ,Detail, and i like that you gave it some space and not cropped too tight.

Love the pic, but he does seem a bit too young to be heading out on his own. Hope he made it.

Hey Mitch . Yes he was the youngest of the group and I was surprised to see him down by the water but there were lots of them heading down like a party aand his one parent was keeping close by. I saw him again ( I think) last time I visited a few days after.

Love this little guy, and what a pose! I love the way the chick has given you the head turn, and the wave really works here. It's far enough away from the chick that it doesn't detract but adds to the story.

Lots of young skimmers venture far from the colony. A fair number become breakfast for the Great Black-backed Gulls. Some kids never listen....

Yes art that is true and I have seen it myself. So sad. I actually did rescue a little 1 that made it's way a little too far down the beach that same day. I hope he survived.

I am a firm believer in letting nature take its course. Gulls gotta eat to survive.... Nature does not know cute :)

That has to be the 1 of the hardest lessons to learn especially when witnessing the mother killing her own baby And you know in your heart you have to let it be
I've seen that happen this year especially more time than I would like to. and life goes on
