Gannet couples often reinforce their bond with mutual fencing. These birds have many facinating behaviors. Taken with the Mark III, 100-144 @ 320mm, F11, iso 200, 1/800.

Carole, I like this one a lot. Behavior captures are always interesting to me. Nice composition with the hint of a heart shape made by the pair. Nice job!

The secret to the image Carole, is the way you have isolated the heads against the blue sky. Well done on that as it's not easy at this location to find a place where you can. The like the layer of birds below the subjects. If you had used a larger aperture, these would have been even more OOF. However, the cost might have been that the lefthand subject would have not been in the DoF range, so I understand your logic here. On a sunny day like this I find that carefully dosed fill flash really makes a difference to lighten the shadows.

I really like the behavior here and the beautiful blue sky and eyes. Given the congestion of birds, f11 worked well here. terrific and classic!

Strong picture, I really like this one.

With the camera you have told a story and set the tone for a great moment in nature - well done. I like the ISO 200 you had plenty of light with a combination of f/11 and a 800 shutter. Often nature photographers use 200 to boost quality and help with resizing. Agree with John, some fill flash can be an asset on a sunny day and help with shadows. Keep the Gannets coming.

Carole, Really nice behavior captured. I love these birds and you did a great job with this one. I might tone down the birds in the BG a little if it were mine so they don't draw the eye as much. Nicely done.
