The shoot is very interesting. The only noise point is the green in the top!
    Very well!

Awesome Charles, I like the way you captured it coming straight at you. Nice splash and sharpness.

This is one of the most impressive wildlife images I've seen in ages, blows me away.

    I'd be in retreat!

Have you changed the 1ds3 for a Mk4?

Shot with a naked 300! How far away; how much crop? Perfection!

    Hillary,

I have 2 MIV and my 1Ds III. I love the 1Ds III IQ, but for action images needing the
fire power the MIV is the ticket. Wait till you see what comes out before
    years end.

Agree with above comments, but it's the intent wide eyed look on this guy that really impresses!

Awesome image Chas...love the pose, action and splashes...
Was this with the new 2x?

Small nit - the droplets at the top seem to be brigther and more 'stand-out' than the rest. Could this be the result of sharpening/compression?

More than likely they stand out more being against the darker background.

Nice frame filling (without seeming to tight) action shot. Love the focused look and flying droplets.

    Thanks all,

This was taken with the 2x II not the newer one.

Bears are certainly my favorite subject.
With over 50 bear workshops hosted to date (black, brown, polar) I have acquired quite a bit of behavioral and location knowledge. And, this of course translates into better imagery.

I will be in the Artic for over 4 weeks in the coming months photographing all three bear species, along with moose, caribou, wolves, and more. I can't wait!!!!

    Best Amigo

    Chas
