I love how these guys dance and raise their wings to shade the water and catch fish. The dance looks so awkward but it is so effective for this species.

Beautiful image ! Perfect exposure, sharp with good detail, awesome low shooting angle and colours. A more traditional horizontal would work even nicer IMHO. Here is a repost with some crop off the top and bottom and some more canvas on the sides.
I think it needs a tiny CCW rotation.

Like the re-post better but both work for me. You caught the head at the perfect time and I love the low angle.

I too love watching these birds. Your angle and action capture are perfect. Lovely b/g as well! Nice job!

great pose and light with nice details. Did you desaturated the red channel? Since the eye looks a bit dull (egret's eye should look yellow in this light) and I would expected warmer whites given the light condition.

Thanks Arash, I did not touch the red channel at all. The white morphs eyes are much paler then the other egrets. I have images of a snowy and this guy on the same day and there is a considerable difference in eye color.

Great timing to capture this pose Cheryl, just love the umbrella effect. Good low angle, well exposed and sharp. Great HA too.
