Karl, good job on the blacks, and you have captured a great banking angle showing the dorsal view nicely. The middle of the wings seem slightly softer than the wing tips, or I could have had a long day.

    Thanks Stuart.
    You are right.
The focus square was sitting on the middle of the left wing.
As it was banking the wing was more or less in the same plane.
However, the wing covert feathers are not as conspicuous (well defined) as the primary and secondary flight feathers, hence the less detail in them.
If anything I wished for more head turn and better eye contact.

Karl, superb dorsal vire, blacks and the BG. I liked the subject placement as well.

The sharpness unevenness issue can be fixed (to a certain extent) by selectively doing stronger USM on certain areas.

Hey Karl, Love the pose but I am concerned with image quality (lack of feather detail) and the quality of the background. May we see the full frame original capture?

Did you do any work on the BKGR?

    Thanks, Artie.
Yes I did. I separated the object from the background. I then sharpened the object and used noise reduction on the background. I also used highlight/shadows tool and made the background to be lighter coloured and less contrasty I guess.
Here is the original. All I did was, I converted it from RAW to TIFF and then saved it in jpeg.

    Thanks for the ORIG Karl.
Am I the only feeling that there is little if any fine detail in the gull's wings?
