Rear Filter Holder for Sigma 300, 500, 800, 300-800

This may be of interest for those that own one of the long Sigma prime lenses or the 300-800 monster.

After looking for a spare rear filter holder for some time and not able to track one down, I recently found that Sigma US has added it to its online store.

For $90 its not exactly cheap but also not really expensive, and it will make using the polarizer filter that comes with all those lenses a bit less of a pain in the rear end. When swapping filters in the holder I always ended up with finger prints on the filter and bad words coming out of my mouth. So I avoided using the polarizer. Now with an extra holder I will just change between preassembled units in seconds, a quick and easy change that will make use of the polarizer much more convenient and thus more likely .
