    Default Painted Bunting (adult male)

A couple weeks ago I found 3 painted buntings on a vacant piece of land very close to home.
I couldn't visit them this past week, but when I went this evening, I saw that construction has begun and quite a bit of land has been dug up.
I couldn't find any of the birds that I enjoyed hanging out with for a few days over there :(

This was meant to be a record shot until I got a better one, but I'll post it in memory of this gorgeous adult male Painted Bunting.

Sidharth, these guys certainly have a wide range of colours on them, and this pose shows them all off nicely. I like the thin perch, and good to see him in the open too.

What else to say, it is perfect. Love the perch and the bit of green it provides, sweet BG, nice sharp bird with a good pose. I would take a record shot like that anytime.

I like everything about this one, first thing that comes to mind is that I wish it were mine.

Thanks Yogesh. Yes, I used a camera mounted 580 EX II with a better beamer.
My camera does not have a built-in flash.
This image was made as the sun was very low in the sky. I underexposed ambient about -0.33 ev to get a darker bg and illuminated the bird with the flash.
