Catchlight added and i cloned out a red rock behind bird's tail.
I returned to the beach today. Once again, lay on my belly for a couple of hours with my elbows in the sand. I have major sand burn on my elbows!!But, as always,
    it is worth it!

Again I love the low angle. The raised foot and worm are great as well as the beach rocks and pebbles. I keep going back to the though of whether the addded catchlight is too centered? Not sure.

Wonderful capture...the patience is worth for getting shot like this. I agree with Cheryl about catch light being too centered. If mine I would add it in upper half of eye.

great low angle, pose and details. Cheryl is right that the catch light is a bit too centered.

Good low perspective Gail, and I do like the pose with the raised leg. His catch a bonus.

    Hey Gail,
Catchlight already mentioned and I love all the rocks.....except the ones near the head/neck. Since you eliminated the tail rock.....I'd take the neck one next and see if that is enough as the ones by the head....aren't touching. I love the action and light too......so well worth your efforts!!!

Our north shore beaches on Long Island are rocky like yours so it is a challenge to separate the birds from them, which I do feel creates a more pleasing image. I'd crop from the top and eliminate the partial reddish rock. Wish for more details in the whites of the head and agree about the catchlight. Both easy fixes. As for your elbows, I spent 10 bucks on a neoprene pad (designed for fishermen to put their gear on) and it get regular use! These birds are just so darned cute and the raised foot and prey of yours are nice.
