    Default Proud catch...

It was a low tide sunset at the beach the other day, so I got between the surf and the gulls and took some shots. This one was very proud of it's catch. Like how the sunset light lit up the eye, bill, and clam. Tight crop to focus on the catch, ACR, CS5, removed some spots around eye and bill, toned down whites some, NR, sharpening. Not much detail in the whites with the bright light, but I notice that seems to happen sometimes with white gulls.

Very nice close up, whites a bit "white" on my screen but they are very hard to get right in the sunlight.
Clam is perfect, focus very good.
    Well done.

the prey adds a lot of interest, light was nice too. Dan is right, whites are lacking detail looks like you applied NR...

Nice catch by the gull, and I like the details inside of its' mouth. I too see the whites as pretty bright...I'd tone them down a bit even with the lack of detail in the plumage.

Love the prey and agree the whites look a bit bright. Great look at the beak and eye.

Tack sharp detail on the head, bill and clam, and I agree with the others regarding the whites.

Repost works nicely well Brendon, superb low angle and light. The clam give this image that little extra TFS
