I like pikas & this is a good image of one with the relatively clean BG. I like the grass in its mouth & seeing his furry little feet. Its sharp & well exposed. Nice job Chas.

Like the overall color tone of this one. They are fun to shoot. Just when you think you got their path and stops figured out, they go and take an alternate route on you!

    Clean, simple, perfect.

The Pika being on the incline is a great addition with the trailing vegetation in the mouth, sharpness, detail & clarity spot on, as expected Chas.

    Two questions though Chas,
    - Have you slightly blurred the BG or is that due to the BKG being a good distance away?
    - You say spot of Pika, do you mean you metered somewhere else on the BKG, if so why? I noticed you did this on a Ram with a lake in the BKG too. Be good to know as I only done this in snow based images.

Simple and very effective. Nice tonal range and catchlight.

Maybe a slice of both sides to tighten the comp. a little.

    Cheers

Chas - nicely done as always. I particularly like the sloping rock and pose.

    Hey guys,

Perhaps, I should have said Spot metered on the Pika. Anyway, my point being I Spot metered on (or off of, wink) the Pika, without the need for any compensation, as this is a mid-tone value.

The background appears as taken, with the grasses far enough away from the plane of focus to render them as viewed.

    Best,

    Chas

I like all of this image. The pika is sharp as a tack, well composed and the background is very nice.

Like that grey background and the vegetation in the mouth. Very sharp as well.
