You guys are going to be so tired of seeing gannets. Another from Bonaventure, a truely amazing place. It is hard to isolate a bird, even in the sky, as you can see....Taken with the mark III, 70-200 f4 @135, F8, 1/1600.

Not tired at all, keep em coming! I enjoy the full focus on the entire bird, exposure looks great. Wings back and foot raised are nice. The BG is soft with enough detail to imagine all the action. Love the blue of the eye and golds on his head. TFS ann

    Carole,

Please keep the Gannets coming, love the images. I really like this one, love the f/8 showing the main subject and depth of Gannetville. Nice clean edge on bottom and low angle - sweet!

Nice DOF field showing the colony in BG...Looking forward for more shots of these beautiful birds.

    Hey Carole,
This is fantastic!!! I didn't know you made it out there! The DOF you chose was just right. I'd be tempted to tone down the bird at the tail of the main gannet......but all in all a very good job!

Sound like a wonderful place to be.Love the up close feeling of this one, nice composition of the bird with good background of the colony (that didn't take attention away from the viewer but add story to the image). Sharp and nice friendly pose given by the bird, I might tone down the white where the wing connected to the body a bit.
