It's a very interesting shot I like the pose. Something is bothering me though, there seems to be a pale haze over the head and throat, was this where a sharpening layer mask was not fully removed or perhaps it was a pale brush that was used to homogenise the background that has spilt onto the bird??

Hi Bob. nice pose, shooting angle and eye contact. Would crop much less as IQ suffered from the crop-no fine detail and composition is too tight IMO.
This is a New Holland Honey-eater.

    Hi Bob,
What a cool looking bird. I love the BG and the perch. I too, see the haze over the face and eye. What is it? I am OK with the crop but do find it a bit tight. definetely need more space on the bottom.

Agree with the above Bob though your bird is neither a New Holland HE or a bee eater.
    It is a White-cheeked Honeyeater

    Hey Bob,
I like the perch and pose.....but agree something funky going on in the face/head area. Easy tweak in either selective color...black channel or 100 other different ways. That small tweak will make this shine!
