The moon was so brilliant a few nights ago that I had to try to use it.

Like the composition your created, Mitch. Great looking moon image, and the bird image was a good choice to combine with it. I like how the bird is looking towards the moon. Bringing out some more detail in the wings (if possible) and maybe a more refined edge on your selection of the bird, might make it even stronger.

Nice composition, Mitch. The moon and colors are great. I would have used feather to soften the edges of the gull, if it were mine. Nicely done.

Very good work. I love the composed image Mitch, the bird fits nicely.

Adding subjects to images has always been a favourite of mine, back when I started with BPN, Artie and Denise, explained how to refine the edges to me, when adding a subject to an image. Check out how to use the Refine Edge function in Photoshop.
    It'll help a lot you'll see.

Hi Mitch, this is my favorite of yours for sure! Nice composition and choice of elements. To make this image even better I would suggest warming up the color temperature of the gull to more closely match that of the moon. This will make your composite more convincing and natural looking. The gull has a strong cyan/blue cast compared to the moon. Keep them coming!

    Hey Mitch,
Great advice above on both the color temp and refine edges! I do like the comp a lot so worth tweaking to take this up a notch.

    Kerry,

You are right. I have to pay more attention to color casts. I will try a modified version.
