    Hi Sid From the place you were shooting you made the best possible image Pointing down at a step angle will not get you many keepers. The bg clutter becomes more of a problem

    Would suggest figuring a way to approach on your on terms and pick your bg !!!!

    Thanks Alfred. I think spring has finally arrived here so I may have a chance to finally get outside. I'll keep trying.

    Sid, just follow Al's suggestions. Definitely the bg is too busy.

    As Alfred noted, it is hard to get keepers when looking down into such a busy background. Also, for the record, the bird is a dark eyed junco.

    Thanks Gene. My wife had also pointed out the error of my bird identification ways, but I am trying.:)
