With this picture I have tried to do something different from what I usually do. I cropped the original quite a bit to focus on this Coot´s (Fulica atra) rather ugly looking feet. All comments are appreciated.
D200 + MB-D200 with AF-S 300/2.8, handheld.

Please post the aperture and shutter speed with eachi image so that we can be better able to help you. I like this image a lot but it would be much stronger with a smaller aperture and focus on the correct spot... The focus is on the back foot and the front foot (on our left is way soft). To maximize the possibilities with foot fetish iimages you need to use as small an aperture as possible, something like f/18 or f/22. When working with telephotos lenses and long effective focal lengths the d-o-f is about 50-50 in front of and behind the point of focus (thank you EJ Peiker). This, you needed to focus on a spot about one toe joint in front of the near foot. Working on a tripod at this point would pretty much be mandatory. IAC, I like the image a lot. It is way cool, but could have been killer.
