One from my on going Osprey nest observation and Photo shoot.
This was a week ago, today the chicks were flapping wings. Growing up fast, maybe fledging next weekend.

Dan:
Nice to see all three chicks up at once, great eye on the left most chick.
Your light was pretty harsh (based on dark shadows) and some of the whites on the parents breast are pretty bright.
I might try do a little multiply or linear burn work selection on those areas, and might tone down the brightness of the nest just a bit to reduce its impact.
Look forward to seeing the chicks flapping, standing on the edge of the nest, and finally blasting off!
Cheers
Randy
You are lucky to be able to document a nest like this, especially at what sems to be eye-level too! The nests can be really messy, but this one looks pretty good - those moss/lichen decorations nicely spruced it up. I do wish the two chicks at right would have turned there heads too. I like Randy's suggestion of taming some of the whites, and perhaps a reverse "S-curve" would help ease the harsh light. Well done, Dan, and looking forward to seeing the progress of this family!
Randy and Dan, thanks.
I realize the light was harsh, but I am taking what I can get.
It is a project for the local Audubon, I spend way too much time there and the three of them sit up at once not often.
I am not only at eye level, I walk down the bank of the river to get some of these. I actually look down on the nest.
I will post some more if not too boring, some from yesterday as they are growing amazingly fast.
Beautiful birds and watching the interaction with the parents is just great.
The adults catch and bring fish to the nest at will.

very nice view of the nest with three chicks! Good suggestions by Randy and Dan above, sometimes it is worth spending a whole day to get the perfect shot with all three chicks + mom looking at you at the same time!
