Taken early in the morning before there was any rally decent light, so used spotlight as a light source and to add some warmth. slightly different processing, not sure if this works???

I like this a lot! Maybe a bit more room at the top.

Brendon...works for me. you might consider darkening the RHS of the lion just a tiny bit

I like the pose & intense stare Brendon, but can help feel that the BG the Lion is emerging from doesn't look right. Either there is some PP work, or it's too light, I'm not sure, just does quite feel right to me, however I am probably wrong.

Brendon - nice use of the spot. I like the intensity of this and also the hint of tail showing. Agree with the suggestion for a little more room above if you have it.

Interesting shot with a nice contrast of color between lion and BG. The edge around the left flank seems a little to "defined" to my eye but I'm not sure why (maybe darken and blur a touch more?)

    Brendon,

I really like this image. The separation of the lion from the background due to depth of field and color is outstanding. Adding more canvas at the top would make the lion smaller in the frame, so I like it as is. I would change anything. Superb subject with great light. Well done.

Love the image, love the light alot and the lion is super sharp but I'm sorry I agree about the bg. I know about the dof effect but this almost feels like a blur effect was added around the lion. Maybe just an illusion from the glow of the light.
