    Default Turtle

Taken the July 4th weekend in my friend's backyard. This box turtle seemed to be looking for water so we turned on the sprinkler for it and I was able to take a few images. Unfortunately it was midday, so rather harsh light.

    C&C welcome and appreciated. Thanks,

Hi Rachel...I like the low angle very much...You might consider taking just a tad off the bottom and reducing the saturation of oranges. you might be able to clone over some of the hot spots if you are careful and so inclined.

This is certainly an interesting coloured creature. Wish the left foot wasn't clipped and would rather the background had been all grass instead of the grey thingy. Good to see wildlife from the backyard.

Good to see you always have your camera with you Rachel.

I like the low perspective on this one, but feel if you could have moved a bit more to your left you might have avoided the clipped foot and less road in the BG perhaps? I would try a little Highlight/Shadow on the head only, and a bit more USM on the shell too as I think it could stand it. Still can't get over the 'orange space hopper colour', LOL.

Thanks for the comments. I too wish the rear leg wasn't clipped. I have other images but this was the best HA. The color was surprisingly bright and probably augmented by the highlights from the turtle being wet from the sprinkler.

    Thanks again,
    Rachel

Haven't seen one of these in years. Love the colors of this one, shell looks like some nicely vsrnished wood.
