I was trying to figure out a way to make this pic look like one of Mike Brown's (don't I wish!) dreamy photos and after I blended a blurry layer and used the healing brush, I decided to just forget it and use Painter instead.

lisa, i think you got what you were looking for!! it looks great. the only thing that catches my eye is that area at the top of the top petal of the largest flower between the petal and the frame. there's also a little black area on the bottom left of the frame. i really like the treatment here!

I like this very much. My only nit is to tone down the bright spots in the center flower petals and that will just add to the dreamy effect. very nice vision,

Thank you, Harold and Roman. I don't like the way it looks right above the petal, either.:eek: Roman, you should have seen it before I toned the bright ones down. It was even worse! I'll try, try again. :)
I love the colors and the design but the flowers look unpleasantly pixelated. I would love to see them softer. later and love, artie

Artie, Maybe this is a softer version? Somebody else tells me that my images always look pixelated. Probably because I edit in jpg. (rolling eyes) I tried cloning out the yellow above the petal on the right and couldn't get it looking decent.
Hi Lisa, For my tastes, I like the softer re-post 1000 times better. But that does not mean that it is better. Other folks may still like that one.
As for the little yellow spot, getting rid of that should be a no-brainer. It can be done well with a Quick Mask but for a chore this simple, the Patch Tool is best. It too me about 5 seconds to do it perfectly. Detailed directions for using the Patch Tool (inlcuding setting up a great keyboard shortcut) are contained in our Digital Basics PDF (along with 100s of other great tips and our complete and simple digital workflow).
