A meadow pipit taken at weekend gone. Background is the reddy brown earth that line the cliffs where the pipits were feeding on the aphids. Took what seemed ages slowly creeping forward, watching the birds reactions until eventually it gained the confidence to get stuck into the stack of aphids and completely ignore me.

Hi Stu,
I really like the exposure and the tack sharp bird and the light. There is something about the composition that isn't quite right. I think it is the flower on the right that is cut off. If this was mine I would clone out that flower and move the bird to the right a bit.

Excellent bg, light, setting and details.
The exposure and the oof flowers in the bg are also very nice.
What would've been nice is a better head angle from the bird imho.
Hi Stuart- Really like the aphid story and the aphid on the tip of the bill! Beautiful BG. Is the complete right hand flower head in the original? If so I would consider keeping the whole thing. It would be an unorthodox crop but might be worth considering. A slight head turn towards you would have been optimal. Great to see this species by the way. Haven't seen one in ages!
Thanks for the feedback. The repost is the only HA change I got on this bird. Agree with leaving the other head in the but didn't want to centre the bird as that always looks kinda wrong to me with side on portraits.
