    NR to BG , CB in levels and USM, otherwise as shot, small crop
    Handheld 100-400 + 1.TC
    1/500 eV +.33, iso 800,F8 Av

    Like - BG,EXP and detail, eye contact on open beak

    Very nice indeed Richard, in an ideal world you would have been higher/he would have been lower but some lovely detail there. I may be tempted to make it pop a little using a wide Unsharp mask or Selective Colour adjustment layer.

    I used DRE in Topaz - dont normally go there but feedback would be nice

    not used USM mask before any tips/links?

    Hi Rich I like it better - whatever you did works though (purely personal remember) perhaps just a tad less. Regards USM to POP try this Filter/Sharpen/Unsharp Mask try this: 15/65/0.
    Another means to a similar end is the Curves Adjustment layer - trya Linear Curve - sometimes this is spot on other just a little OTT.
    Alternatively Adjustment Layer> Selective Color>Blacks >Black 3 and Neutral Black 2 - or there abouts - any probs PM or email me.
