    Default Big Bird, Little Fish

Taken during my West Coast Flight workshop with Jim Neiger last week. Skimmers have to be one of my favorite bird species! I'm amazed that they can catch such small fish.

Super green background and detail on the bird. Truly amazing how they catch such a small fish.

    A super in flight capture!

Fantastic flight posture Doug, and I like the overall exposure. The eye stands out nicely. Gotta love that tiny fish. ( tinned sardines are bigger than that )

Great light, pose and wing position. Love the BG. I would like to see a bit more detail in the dark feathers on the back wing. Nice one!

Beautiful posture,Doug!I love the HA and the detail under the wing. They too are one of my favourite birds.Just think of the skill in skimming such a small fish from the water at high speed.

Just spent all morning with friends shooting these as well. lots of fun. I like the flight pose and great light on the face ,underwing and that teeny little fish. It's also nice and sharp I too would like just a little more detail on that back wing.

Background is smooth as silk and the blacks are like velvet, so black yet filled with detail. Killer light and fishy is nice too.
