This is a first for me, as this guy is not from around here. He arrived at our local pond in Pretoria, and has either flown a long, long way from Southern USA, Mexico, or South America,or he may also be an escapee from someone. I wished for a better wing position, so I will have to go back and get another one.

excellent pose and BG in sweet light, I wonder if you have the frame before or after with wings in up or down position ?

Lovely detail and light and I love the BG. I like the wing position for something different but like Arash I would like to see one of the others too, to see a up or down wing position. Nice one Stuart

Wow, stunning colours and light! Superb detail too. Was this taken at Austin Roberts sir? The background water is magical.

    Love it!

    What a treat for you

Nice work locking focus onto the important bits!! I agree better wings would be an improvement. I'd like to see wings down low if you find the bird again

Thanks Dumay. If I had a better wing position, I would have posted it. I do have the frames either side of this, but still not the perfect posture. I do have a great wing position, but against a rippled water BG. Maybe I will post that later.

    Craig, yes Austin Roberts.

Thank you all for the feedback and comments.

Great detail and nice light. I have no doubt that you'll get a better wing position.

Really great image Stuart. I really like the water drops on the face, the wing position and the colors are all so complimentary.

Exquisite light. Love the silky green water. Ditto your own self critique about the wing position.
