I like the swarming effect - some birds in focus and some not - like the plain BG and colours
    All Crits welcome !

A very interesting looking shot and I like it. Nicely done.

The red of the bills really stands out from the nice bg and other colours of the birds.

It looks like you were walking a fine line on SS and DOF.

    Well seen,

    Dave

Hi Craig, I like this! My eye immediately went to the in focus heads of the birds in the top center. The image keeps the eye rolling around to see the different wing positions. very nicely done.

This conveys the swarming flock feeling well. Since I have seen quelea flocks I know this is just a tiny bit of the flock! It's especially nice that the males are in breeding plumage and add that contrasting black face to those brilliant red bills. Having most of the birds facing the same direction and some in focus and some not adds to the feeling of movement. Well done.

The OOF birds in the foreground give it a 3D effect

Craig, thx for sharing and looking forward to more. Loved this one. very different. Thosered bills make the birds stand out and the BG is excellent. Best part is the similar angle on most of them. Well done.
