Very nice Joel. I love the deep blue colors and head tilt. The dark green background adds to the richness of the shot. I am on my laptop, and the overall image looks a tad dark. But wait and hear from other, because this laptop is not a great judge of brightness. Very nice image.

I think it is my computer, as I move the monitor the lighting looks right on.

A beautiful image. I like the dark green background, especially since it is very clean without a lot of apparent noise. I find the halo near the branch that goes off to the right a bit distracting, but it could be easily fixed if you wanted to.

In terms of the light/dark when I put the image in my tool, I see there are just a very few lost shadow pixels that do not detract too much, but if you wanted to shift the whole thing to the right a bit, it might be nicer. I was going to post the revised lighter image, but when I put it up against your original, I liked the your darker version better.

    Joel,
Nice one, love the species and great job with setup. Agree with Jon comment. To strengthen the shot, could clean up background spots (on work monitor) so cannot see all the detail and move subject to the left a tad; great photo angle as well. Why was the ISO that high, seems like shutter was plenty fast - well done.

Agree with the comments above. I would however like to see the bird lightened just a little bit.

Thanks Chris, I ran Topaz Denoise on the entire image at a relatively mild setting

Hi Joel, I like this one a lot and don't really have much to suggest in the way of improvements. Excellent detail, color, exposure, head angle, and composition. I might crop just a tad from the right but like it as presented. I don't find it too dark at all. Frankly, many of the images posted here are over-exposed (easily the number one issue) and I am delighted to see the pleasant exposure on this one. Well done.

Nice image with a good head angle and pose. The exposure seems fine to me. The feathers appear to my eye to be a bit oversharpened.
