    Default Brown Pelican leaping for tossed fish

    I joined Arthur Morris' IPT group at Estero Lagoon last week. Some other photographers were tossing fish to the great egrets and snowy egrets, but a group of brown pelicans in the water would sometimes leap from the water to get their share resulting in some unique poses.

    Canon EOS-1D Mark II N, 100-400 @135mm, ISO 400, AV - 1/3, 1/4000

    Pelicans can be so commical and make great subjects IMO. They are a bit ungraceful...but always entertaining. Wonderful capture Linda. Love the pose.

    What a great image to see first thing this morning Linda. It brought a smile to my face as the pelicans can be so entertaining. Great timing and capture Linda .

    Alfred is being too modest. He is the world's greatest fish tosser... I love the image, the two best things about it are the head angle and the fact that the bill did not merge with the wing. Many of my images had the bird's head turned away.
