I know it's not an olive branch, but the title still popped into my mind. I hope you're not sick of ospreys yet. Same nest a day earlier. The adult came in fast and unfortunately I clipped the wing. No other frames and I'm not a fan of adding canvas or doctoring by taking a component from another shot anyway. I cropped some from rhs and below for comp but am very interested in other suggestions for diminishing the effect of the clipped wing if anyone has them.

    C&C welcome and appreciated. Thanks,

    Nice pose with chick Rachel.
    Exposure just a bit hot.
Not much help for the clipped wing, I know some here can expand canvas
and clone it in, but not me.

Rachel....very nice shot....lots of action here....not much you can do if your not willing to add canvas....You might consider lightening the area around the eye just a tiny bit

Not possible getting sick of seeing Osprey. You are getting some nice shots of this action. Keep them coming.

Good capture Rachel, looks more like an oak leaf but the idea is the same! Nice action and behavior captured and you kept the whites under control. The clipped wing is unfortunate, but it could be fixed if you are willing to invest the time and it sounds like you don't want to, so... There is a slight blue cast to the shadows that could be fixed with a color balance or levels/curves adjustment.

Thanks all for the comments and suggestions. For me, personally, adding canvas and combining multiple images feels more like computer generating an image than photography (producing it in camera) so it's not something I'm comfortable doing at this point. I played around with alternate crops and though I'm not usually a fan of square or nearly square crops, this is what I came up.

Kerry - I also took down the blue in the shadows a few points.

    Thanks again,

    Rachel
