This is a juvenile white-tailed kite, I took this photo last Sep. with Doug Brown in Arasrardeo preserve in Palo Alto, CA. The kites were really skittish and we could not get as close as we had hoped but we managed some frames. Hope you like it

    Attachment 96172

    1D4 1200mm (600 + 2X TC) handheld f/11 1/2500sec ISO 1600.

Great work with the large EFL and hand holding:eek:
Only suggestion is to clone out the small upright branch in lower right of frame but pretty minor nit and it does help to add balance to the comp in a way. Well done

Very well handled and a great head angle.

My eye is also slightly drawn towards the isolated parts of the foliage.

    Well done.

    Great shot!

It really is tough to hand hold 500mm not sure how you managed to HH that beast.

Great wing position Arash - pre take off pose? Good exposure throughout, and I like the underwing detail. I like how you framed your signature between the foliage.

I'd definitely eliminate the vertical twig at lower right edge, but all else is fantastic. I love the perfect raised wings pose!

Thanks guys, I'd like to keep the branch as it balances the frame IMO. In fact I took it out at first but then decided to keep it...mixed feelings :)

Stu this was taken after landing.
