Hello all... I caught this guy at Dallas World Aquarium this last weekend. I have no idea what kind of bird it is so if you could help there it would be greatly appreciated. A friend suggested some kind of Bustard (sp?)... I poked around on the internet for a good while and couldn't find one that really looked like this...

    Comments or feedback always welcome!

    Thanks for looking!

Looks very much like a Hoatzin.

I can't help you on the ID but he's an interesting bird. Nice feather detail....that may be helped some with a little sharpening. It would have been nice for a little more DOF but I don't know if that would have been possible given the ISO/light, and possible handholding. I'd clone out the small green in the lower right corner.

    Hi Steve,

This is a Guira Cuckoo (Guira guira). They hail from the eastern portion of South America. A nice intimate shot here. I agree with Lana and would clone out the green blur at the bottom.
